White BBQ Sauce

If you've lived in the South for any time at all, you know we love BBQ! Keto-friendly BBQ Sauce isn't, however, readily available and some of the sugar-free stuff I've tried just ain't right. Then I remembered my mom, who was born in Alabama, used to make this delicious mayonnaise-based white sauce that we put on BBQ chicken, coleslaw,  fried bologna, salads, french fries, basically almost everything. I love all things mayonnaise and this one will add a vinegary zip to whatever you choose to use it on.

There are various versions of this "Alabama" White BBQ sauce and Bob Gibson of Decatur, Alabama is credited with creating it way back in 1925. I've added a heaping tablespoon of horseradish to mine just because I love horseradish but if you don't, you can leave it out. I keep this stuff on hand in a squeeze bottle and put it on everything, including ribs, crispy fried fish and grilled chicken.

Ingredients
1 cup real mayonnaise
1/3 cup cider vinegar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
1 tablespoon horseradish (more or less to taste)
Freshly ground black pepper

Directions
Place all ingredients in a mason jar, screw lid on tightly, shake until all ingredients are blended. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before use and shake well before using.

You probably have all of these ingredients on hand, or available at your local grocery store, but if you have trouble finding the squeeze bottles you can find them here:
